I haven’t been as active in writing here as I would like to be, but my lack of posts have been for a very good reason! Garner and I are expecting a baby girl in May 2023!

I am currently 17 weeks today, and I’m thankfully feeling well. The first trimester wasn’t too rough thanks to modern medicine, but I’m glad to have some of my energy back along with my appetite. Everything has been going well, and we pray the next 23 weeks will, too.

We are feeling thrilled, excited, nervous, eager, thankful, hopeful, and so many other emotions as we become parents. We can’t wait to see who this little girl will be. Will she have mathematical aptitude like her dad or be a words person like me? Will she be full of energy or be an introvert like both of us? Which sides of the family will she inherit her physical traits from? Whoever she will be, we know she will perfect. She is already so loved.

Five years ago today, Garner and I met for the first time at a Christmas party at a house on Abbeville Street in Columbia, South Carolina, and we have always considered this our “dating” anniversary. What better way to celebrate this year by sharing our happiest news?
